Composition of Dexa Rhino Spray

Tramazoline hydrochloride 0.12 mg – Dexamethasone isonicotinate 0.02 mg.
Excipient with known effect:
DEXA RHINO SPRAY contains 1.50 mg benzalkonium chloride, 25 mg benzyl alcohol and 90 mg sodium
chloride.

Use Indications

DEXA RHINO SPRAY is recommended for use in treating the symptoms of inflammatory rhinitis, particularly allergic rhinitis, including hay fever, in both adults and children as young as 7 years old.

Dosage of Dexa Rhino Spray

Shake the bottle and spray once into each nostril, two to three times each day, after blowing your nose.
Adults may receive the medication up to six times in a 24-hour period.
Use of DEXA-RHINOSPRAY is limited to five consecutive days at most.

Children shouldn’t age out of:

  • Four sprays within a day (7-9 years)
  • Five sprays within a day (10-12 years)
  • Six sprays in a day (as from 13 years).
    DEXA-RHINOSPRAY is only safe for use on adults and kids over the age of seven.
    The dose needs titrated to the lowest level at which symptoms can effectively controlled.

Administration strategy:

  1. Thoroughly shake the container.
  2. Take the applicator nozzle cap off.

Contraindications of Dexa Rhino Spray

  • Hypersensitivity to any of the excipients indicated in section 6.1, including the active ingredients (tramazoline hydrochloride or benzalkonium chloride).
  • Due to the corticoid component, infections of the mouth, eye, and/or upper respiratory tracts, as well as viral infections (herpes, vaccinia, varicella, etc.), nose infections, and tuberculosis in the nasal cavity.
  • Kids under the age of 7.
    Dry rhinitis
  • Glaucoma (theoretical interaction with the sympathicomimetic component), especially narrow-angle glaucoma.
    – Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Following cranial surgery through the nose.

Pregnancy
Due to potential systemic absorption, using DEXA-RHINOSPRAY during pregnancy not advised, especially during the first three months.
Lactation
This medication should not used when nursing.
Fertility
Tramazoline hydrochloride preliminary investigations have not revealed any effects on fertility.
