Use with caution in patients with chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma, COPD, or bronchitis. Monitor for signs of CNS depression, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. Avoid alcohol or other CNS depressants during treatment. Use with caution in patients with impaired hepatic or renal function. Caution advised in patients with glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, urinary retention, or cardiovascular disease. May impair ability to operate machinery or drive. Prolonged use without medical supervision is not recommended.
Relief of symptoms associated with upper respiratory tract infections, including: Productive and dry cough Nasal congestion Minor throat and bronchial irritation Chest congestion Allergic rhinitis symptoms (e.g., sneezing, watery eyes)
Hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients or excipients. Severe hypertension or coronary artery disease. Concurrent use of or within 14 days of MAO inhibitors. Narrow-angle glaucoma. Urinary retention. Chronic cough due to smoking, asthma, or emphysema (unless under supervision). Children under 2 years of age unless directed by a physician.
Common: Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting Gastrointestinal discomfort Nervousness or restlessness Less Common: Palpitations, blurred vision, urinary retention Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling) Rare/Serious: CNS depression or excitation in children Respiratory depression (with excessive doses) Seizures (rare)
Information not available
Ammonium Chloride: Acts as an expectorant by irritating bronchial secretory cells, thinning mucus. Chlorpheniramine Maleate: A first-generation antihistamine that blocks H1 receptors, reducing allergy symptoms. Dextromethorphan HBr: Centrally-acting antitussive that suppresses the cough reflex via sigma-1 receptor activation in the medulla. Guaifenesin: Expectorant that decreases mucus viscosity and facilitates its removal through coughing.
MAO Inhibitors: Risk of serotonin syndrome or hypertensive crisis. CNS Depressants (alcohol, sedatives): May increase CNS depression risk. Beta-blockers & Antihypertensives: Possible interaction with decongestant effects. SSRIs/SNRIs: Risk of serotonin syndrome when combined with dextromethorphan. Anticholinergics: Potentiation of anticholinergic effects from chlorpheniramine.
Pregnancy Category C (varies by component): No adequate controlled studies in pregnant women. Should only be used if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Guaifenesin and dextromethorphan are generally considered low-risk in short-term use during pregnancy. Avoid during the first trimester unless clearly needed. Typical Dose: 10 ml syrup orally every 6–8 hours. Maximum: Do not exceed 40 ml per 24 hours. Dosage may vary based on formulation and manufacturer instructions. Maintain adequate hydration to support expectoration.

6–12 Years: 5 ml every 6–8 hours (not to exceed 20 ml/day). 2–6 Years: 2.5 ml every 6–8 hours (maximum 10 ml/day); only under medical supervision. <2 Years: Not recommended unless directed by a pediatrician.
No standard renal dose adjustment provided, but caution is advised: Moderate to Severe Renal Impairment: Use with care, monitor for accumulation and toxicity. Ammonium chloride may increase acid load—use cautiously in renal impairment or metabolic acidosis.
dminister orally using a measuring device. Shake bottle well before use to ensure uniform distribution. May be taken with or without food. Encourage fluid intake to help loosen mucus and improve expectoration. Do not administer more frequently than prescribed. Instruct patients not to use other cough/cold products concurrently without consulting a healthcare provider.
