The scientific name
Dexlansoprazole 60 mg capsules
Dexlant 60 mg capsule belongs to:
Acidity and heartburn medications
How does dexlansoprazole work?
The secretion of hydrochloric acid (HCl) into the lumen of the stomach is a process that is mainly regulated by the H(+)/K(+)-ATPase known as the proton pump, large amounts of which are present in the parietal cells of the stomach.
A proton pump inhibitor works by irreversibly blocking the hydrogen/potassium enzyme system, which suppresses the secretion of stomach acid.
Dexlansoprazole is a member of a class called proton pump inhibitors.
