May also be given via IM inj.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Child Dose<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Nutritional Supplementation RDA 0-12 months: 400 IU (10 mcg) PO once daily 1-18 years: 600 IU (15 mcg) PO once daily Vitamin D-Resistant Rickets 12,000-500,000 IU (0.3-12.5 mg) PO once daily Familial Hypophosphatemia 40,000-80,000 IU (1-2 mg) PO once daily with phosphate supplements; may be reduced after stage of growth is complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Contra Indications of Dferol 50<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All disorders linked to hypercalcemia contraindicated with colecalciferol. Additionally, it should not used in patients who have a history of hypersensitivity to either the excipients or Colecalciferol (or medications in the same class). In cases where vitamin D toxicity is apparent, colecalciferol is contraindicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Precautions of Dferol 50<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Consider using vitamin D supplements with caution if you have any of the following conditions:<br>High calcium or phosphorus levels in the blood<br>Heart issues<br>kidney illness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supplementing with sufficient levels of calcium and magnesium is necessary when taking vitamin D.
